National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (NITT), is one among the premier Institutions of India and is well known for its high standards in teaching and research. About Mechanical Engineering Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one among the first three departments established in 1964. With a team of highly qualified faculty members, the department consistently strives to be a globally renowned Department in Mechanical Engineering where the best of teaching, learning and research synergize to fulfil the requirements of industry and society. As a feather in its cap, the department has been ranked between 300 – 450 consecutively for the past three years in the QS world ranking which makes the department unique among all NITs in the country. The Department offers an undergraduate level programme in Mechanical Engineering, postgraduate level programmes in Thermal Power Engineering and Industrial Safety Engineering and research programmes in M.S and Ph.D. The department keeps itself up to date with the state of art laboratories in order to nurture collaborative and cutting edge research activities.

About the Conference

The International Mechanical Engineering Congress (IMEC) 2019 is aimed at providing a common platform to researchers, industry personnel, academicians, students and professionals to interact and discuss on diverse topics of sustainable development in Mechanical Engineering. IMEC 2019 welcomes original research papers which have not been submitted elsewhere in other Conferences and Journals. Papers should be submitted via https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=imec2019. The paper template can be downloaded from the link. All submitted papers will undergo rigorous review process through subject experts. All accepted papers will be published in the SCOPUS / SCI indexed Journals / Conference proceedings based on the reviewer’s recommendation.

How to Reach Us


NIT-T is in Tiruchirappalli (also know as Trichy or Tiruchy). It is located on the Trichy-Thanjavur Highway about 22 km from Tiruchirappalli Railway Jn / Central Bus stand. The nearest airport is Tiruchirappalli airport. The simplest and most economical way to reach NITT from Trichy city is by bus. Any city bus at the Tiruchirappalli Railway Junction will take you to the central bus stand. Board Thanjavur bound mofussil or route bus. The journey time from Trichy city will be around 30 minutes. Ola and Fastrack cabs are also an option to reach the campus.
